Western Region Big League Baseball Tournament

2010 Western Region Big League Baseball Champions

The 2010 Western Region Big League Baseball Tournament Champions are
Southern California – District 13, Thousand Oaks

In a great match between two very good teams Thousand Oaks prevailed over Hawaii by a score of 3 to 0.  Thousand Oaks now moves on to the World Series in Easley South Carolina.

Great game between two very good teams. Both teams (in fact all of the teams at the tournament) were composed of young men who showed respect for each other and the efforts displayed in the games. We would have been proud to send any of the teams to Easley to represent the West.

Today the two best baseball teams in the tournament met and the Thousand Oaks team came out on top. We are confident that they will show the rest of the World Series participants that in the West we play hard, play fair, and respect the opponent on and off of the field.

Best of luck to the young men from Southern California, District 13, Thousand Oaks.

2010 USA & Western Region Big League Baseball Champions

The 2010 USA & Western Region Big League Baseball Tournament Champions are
Southern California – District 13, Thousand Oaks

The Big League team from Thousand Oaks left Washington for the World Series in Easley South Carolina.  They continued their dominate play and only lost one game in pool play to the team from the Southwest out of Ruston, Louisiana.  The two teams played a rematch in the USA Championship and Thousand Oaks prevailed by a score of 5 to 2.

Thousand Oaks faced a very good team from Bravos de Pontezuela Little League in Santiago, Dominican Republic the next day in the Championship game.  Bravos de Pontezuela jumped on the scoreboard early and shutout Thousand Oaks to win the Championship.

The entire team from Thousand Oaks should be very proud of their accomplishments.  They proved to be great representatives of their league, their state, and their region.  All of us in the West congratulate them for their acheivements.

2010 Western Region Big League Baseball

Western Region Big League Baseball

Washington District 2 Little League has once again been selected to host one of the premier events of the Little League tournament season. This is the fifth consecutive year that we have been selected to host the Big League Baseball Western Region tournament. The tournament will be held at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and Events Center baseball complex from July 17th through July 23rd.

The Big League Baseball program is for youth age 16 to 18. The Western Region tournament brings in teams from Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon, Hawaii, Northern California, Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona.

This year our schedule meshes with the Blue Jackets games too.  The Blue Jackets are the local college wood bat league team comprised of undergraduate players from colleges and universities from around the country. This is a wonderful opportunity to come out and watch some great baseball.  Admission is free. Cheering is required.
